Who We Are
Nestled just outside Las Vegas, the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH) is a proud, state‑owned, skilled nursing facility dedicated to serving veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star parents. We’re known for our excellence, compassion, and community-driven care. Our Mission At SNSVH is simple, but powerful: Serving Nevada’s Heroes. We’re not a corporate-run facility, we’re family. Our team operates under a person‑centered care philosophy that emphasizes respect, resident choice, and real relationships. Every decision, from care plans to daily activities, is shaped by resident preferences, recognizing their leadership, dignity, and lifelong service. We offer both exceptional care and value, a place where every team member and volunteer works together to enhance life, not just support it. SNSVH is one of only two state veterans homes in Nevada, and we wear that distinction with pride.
What We Do
Join the Fun — Volunteer With Us!
Looking for a meaningful way to give back and have a great time? Whether you're flying solo or coming as a group, there’s a place for you at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home. Here are just a few exciting ways you can make a difference:
Adventure Buddy: Join our residents on fun-filled outings to the mall, movies, restaurants, or even the casino. Laughter and good stories guaranteed!
Game Guru: Bring your A-game for cards, checkers, chess, and classic board games. Challenge a veteran to a match, or just share a few laughs.
Bingo Boss: Help host one of our most beloved activities-BINGO! Big fun, big prizes, and big smiles.
Front Desk Hero: Be the friendly face (and voice) that welcomes guests and helps with phones, filing, and clerical magic.
Canteen Crew Member: Keep our gift and convenience shop running smoothly; help stock goodies, chat with residents, and spread joy.
Fix-It Friend: Handy with a hammer or paintbrush? Help us keep things looking sharp with easy repairs and light maintenance.
And there's more! In addition to these scheduled activities, we host special celebrations for holidays like Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July, where volunteers help bring extra cheer, patriotic spirit, and unforgettable moments.
