Hope Notes & letters of encouragement to unemployed women - Write messages of hope, encouragement, and inspiration to keep our clients motivated in their job search, as they work towards self-sufficiency. Your handwritten note cards will be included in our employment-empowerment kits. Guidelines for Hope Notes are:
• 2-5 neatly written sentences of encouragement, you can write positive encouraging statements like "I believe in you!" or "We are cheering you on" and can include inspiring quotes, such as “Self-esteem means knowing you are the dream.” - Oprah Winfrey or “Think highly of yourself because the world takes you at your own estimate.” – Unknown
• If you are doing this as a family project, think of including your child's artwork in the card, like a drawing of a heart or happy face
• No reference to politics or religion please, any words or expression of profanity will not be accepted. Please be kind and thoughtful, your words are powerful.
We request that you please schedule a date to drop-off your notecards – please kindly make sure that each note card is in an unsealed envelope. You can schedule your card drop-off in advance by emailing lila@dfssouthernnevada.org, select a time on Saturday October 9th , Tuesday October 12th, Wednesday October 13th between 8:00AM-1:30PM to drop-off your cards. This project is a virtual volunteer opportunity, and can be done remotely from the comfort of your home or office. Please note that on Friday, October 8th 2021 at 11:00AM, Dress for Success Southern Nevada will host our Day of Caring virtual volunteer event in partnership with United Way of Southern Nevada. This will provide you the opportunity to learn more about Dress for Success Southern Nevada (DFSSN), the Day of Caring volunteer project you have signed-up for – walking you through the process, “how to” for your notes of encouragement. We will also hear from United Way of Southern Nevada, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
