Volunteers will help Family Promise of Las Vegas prepare for our upcoming 30 Year Anniversary Family Fun Festival, a free community celebration taking place September 30. Depending on the needs of the day, volunteers may assemble prize bags and raffle baskets, sort in-kind donations, organize children’s carnival prizes, prepare event signage and station packets, assemble volunteer materials, or help prepare outreach materials for distribution in the surrounding community.
We will also have several hands-on projects available at our Family Navigation Center. These may include organizing the family pantry and laundry room, weeding and refreshing our herb garden, sweeping outdoor patios and walkways, preparing or stocking kitchens, cleaning and setting up available bridge-housing apartments for incoming families, and writing encouraging notes for current and future Family Promise families.
This will allow us to match volunteers with the projects that are most helpful that day while giving participants a meaningful opportunity to directly support families experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
