Love animals and want to make a difference? At the Everyday Adoption Center, Hearts Alive Village’s adoptable dogs and cats are waiting for their forever homes, and you can help by volunteering with dog walking (18+).
We’re located inside PetSmart at 286 W Lake Mead Pkwy. Henderson, NV 89015—come be part of giving animals a second chance!
Purpose: To support the health, happiness, and adoption readiness of Hearts Alive Village’s dogs by providing exercise, bathroom breaks, and enrichment through sniffing, engaging with their surroundings, and a variety of new people, while they wait for their forever homes.
Times and Location of Shift:
- Morning: 7:00–9:00 AM Daily
- Evening: 5:00-7:00 PM Daily
- Everyday Adoption Center inside PetSmart with dog walking in the surrounding outdoor area (286 W Lake Mead Pkwy. Henderson, NV 89015)
Core responsibilities:
- Walking dogs to provide exercise and enrichment
- Monitoring behavior and ensuring safe handling at all times
- Cleaning up after dogs and maintaining outdoor areas
- Noting any changes in behavior or health
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Comfortable handling dogs
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks
- Able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds
- Ages 18+
How to Sign Up:
- Please complete your volunteer application and register for your shift through the Hearts Alive Village Volunteer Portal. Only volunteers who are signed up through the official portal will be able to attend and participate in scheduled shifts.
