Who We Are

We are a 100% volunteer powered nonprofit. Our mission is to ensure no pet is surrendered due to a lack of resources on the part of their human.

What We Do

On a single night in 2019, 5,530 people were identified by the Point-in-Time Count as homeless in Southern Nevada.  Additionally, with more than half unsheltered (60%), Southern Nevada ranks 3rd Nationally in its rate of people living in places not meant for human habitation.  With such drastic rates of homelessness, we are compelled to do what we can.  We understand that the homeless epidemic will not end overnight but hope that we can fill the days’ journey with just a bit more light.

Many of the efforts in place to combat pet homelessness involve spaying, neutering, fostering, and shelters.  We sought a different solution – a more preventative approach to ensure that pets are not surrendered in the first place.  We strive to provide assistance to pets of homeless and those in need by offering food and supply distribution, assisting with funding to spay and neuter pets, meeting the needs of special food diets, medications, and vaccinations, and working to provide temporary housing for pets.

In addition to offering material support, we find that our efforts to help humans care for their companions offer a sense of dignity, comfort, and hope.

FOOD ASSISTANCE

We work to ensure that no pet goes hungry.  We distribute dog and cat food and supplies at locations throughout the Valley as well as delivery to you if you do not have transportation.

SPAY AND NEUTER

In an effort to combat pet homelessness, we meet the urgency of spaying and neutering homeless dogs and cats.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL AID

We partner with local vets to provide initial appointments for examination and evaluation. Additionally, we offer assistance with obtaining vaccinations, special diet foods, euthanasia, and medications for homeless pets in need.

EMERGENCY HOUSING

We seek temporary housing for pets whose homeless humans are experiencing medical emergencies or incarceration or for pets recovering from medical procedures.

OTHER DISTRIBUTION

We supply harnesses, leashes, and collars.  We supply necessities for pets to survive the summer heat including strollers, wagons, pet shoes, pools, and cooling pads.  We supply necessities for pets to survive the winter cold including coats, jackets, and blankets.  We supply necessities for humans to survive homelessness including toiletries, clothes, food, over the counter medication, bus passes, tents, and sleeping bags.  In all of our efforts, we attempt to connect the pets and humans we serve to community resources including shelter, healthcare, case management, hot meals, social services, employment, and more.
