What We Do
To reduce the impact of poverty on people, families, and our community by helping Southern Nevadans get jobs with local employers and Goodwill.
We may be famous for our iconic Goodwill Thrift Stores, but did you know there is so much more to your local Goodwill? When you donate goods or shop in our stores, you are helping Goodwill earn revenues that are used to provide free career services to help people find local employment with upward mobility. This is how we fight poverty with jobs to build brighter futures and a stronger Southern Nevada community.
Our vision is a thriving Southern Nevada community where every person who wants to work is employed and able to reach their full potential. Our Career Services are available at no cost to job seekers and are designed to help them improve access to jobs and overcome barriers within the workforce. Goodwill is committed to breaking workforce barriers that limit employment opportunities due to a job seeker’s race, gender, or pedigree. In addition to training funding and job placement assistance, we also provide a variety of Goodwill Career Services that help job seekers overcome the financial and systematic barriers they face when seeking employment. Sometimes it is something as simple as a barrier of transportation, and other times, we serve families in need of financial assistance for housing, work cards, and even provide things like uniform vouchers for clothing needed to secure employment.
“We recognize the critical role our organization plays within the community to ensure we get Southern Nevadans back into the workforce,” said Rick Neal, president and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada. “Our goal is to raise awareness of the numerous resources we have readily available for assistance through Goodwill's Career Centers all at no cost to the job seeker. We look forward to enabling people who are unemployed or underemployed to find their place back in the workforce with meaningful employment and upward mobility.”
