Who We Are
At Signs of HOPE (SOH), we are dedicated to supporting victim-survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking with healing services, resources, and education. We currently serve all of Clark County, Nevada with a focus on supporting survivors in the immediate aftermath and long-term recovery of sexual trauma and exploitation.
Our commitment to survivors is unwavering. Through our 24-hour hotline, resource center, counseling services, advocacy, and prevention and education programs, SOH aims to support victim-survivors and change the behaviors and attitudes that contribute to the prevalence of sexual violence. As an organization, our staff, board, and volunteers are dedicated to providing the highest quality services to our community.
OUR HISTORY
Signs of HOPE was originally founded in 1974 as the Community Action Against Rape (CAAR) by Las Vegas locals, Florence McClure and Sandra Petta. McClure and Petta were outraged by the lack of resources and respect for survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones.
Mrs. McClure originally ran SOH out of her home, with the goal of helping those in Clark County heal from the trauma of sexual violence and human trafficking. Her dedication and vision continue to inspire us today. Signs of HOPE’s purpose is to ensure that victims of sexual assault and human trafficking have the support and resources they need to move through the process of healing.
