Who We Are
Delivering with Dignity was created as a pilot project to bring high-quality meals directly to the most vulnerable families and seniors in our community who are the safest staying home to avoid the risk of exposure to COVID-19. This program is intended for people struggling with poverty on a daily basis who are most at risk according to U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for contracting COVID-19 if they leave their homes, including the elderly, those with underlying medical conditions and their family members living in the same household.
United Way of Southern Nevada is proud to join with Elizabeth Blau + Associates, Moonridge Foundation, Elaine P. Wynn & Family Foundation, and COPIA to help the most vulnerable Southern Nevadans who do not have access to food receive prepared meals.
What We Do
Volunteer delivery drivers are the core of the program, picking up food packages from restaurants and delivering them to individuals in need. We need you to help deliver meals to those in need!
- Restaurant details will be sent in advance of your volunteer shift.
- Must NOT be in the “at-risk” group as defined by CDC guidelines for COVID19
- Must be currently employed, retired or on laid-off status OR a currently enrolled college student
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have current automobile insurance
- We are not providing gas reimbursement. However, we are all incredibly grateful for your selflessness and humanity!
- With rising summer temperatures and cooling winter temperatures, we want to make sure that food stays safe to eat! Your vehicle must be large enough to fit food bags in the car (not in the trunk or in the bed of a truck). Please also keep your air conditioning running at all times while making deliveries.
- must be knowledgeable of, agree to, and abide by attached volunteer waiver and information (attached at the end of the sign up process)
