General Volunteer Information:

Must be 18 years of age or older. Volunteers are expected to dedicate 5 hours per month (or 5 hours per week for Advocates), on average. Intern hours are determined by the program.Team availability changes monthly; be prepared with 3 team choices based on your schedule. Teams can be switched after 30 active days after orientation.Teams are divided into Operations and Programs. Operations teams support daily tasks; Program teams assist participants directly.If you choose a Hybrid or In-Person team, please be located in Portland, Oregon, or Las Vegas, Nevada, or be able to travel to these locations.

Note: Due to the required application and interview process, being on track for a team doesn't guarantee a spot.

If a team highly interests you but requires in-person availability, use the Q&A section of the orientation to inquire about the possibility of a fully remote role.

Tasks: Maintain office organization, take inventory, assist with donated gifts, and write thank-you letters.

Availability: One Thursday a month 12–4pm

Partners are businesses & individuals offering services to our program participants for pro bono or discounted services.

Tasks: Research partners, maintain database, assist with monthly newsletters, and monthly virtual check-ins. In-person options available once per quarter in Portland, Oregon and Las Vegas, Nevada for cupcake deliveries.

Tasks: Attend networking events, research and plan events for personal attendance, promote the organization, secure volunteers, partners, and donors.Must be comfortable speaking with strangers.Availability: Primarily evenings and weekends.

LAS Volunteer Team Descript

Tasks: Bake cupcakes, deliver cupcakes, assist with catering events.

Must obtain food handler card within 30 days.

Availability: Primarily evenings and weekends.

Program Participant Advocate Team Members are responsible for assisting with Program Participant care, including intake.

Team members are required to attend bi-weekly supervision/team meetings and volunteer a minimum of five hours per week. In office requirements vary.

 

Support Group Team Members are responsible for assisting with scheduling client support groups, and facilitating these meetings as requested.

Team members are required to attend monthly team meetings and volunteer a minimum of five hours per month. In office requirements vary.

The Social Media team members will report directly to the Social Media Lead and the Social Media + Marketing Manager and will assist with the planning, creation, growth, and engagement of all social media accounts for The Cupcake Girls including: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Team members are required to attend monthly team meetings and volunteer five hours per month. In office requirements vary.

Volunteer Care Team Members are responsible for assisting with connecting to our volunteer base to make sure each individual feels empowered in their role, enjoys the assigned work and feels valued by this organization.
