Volunteer: Las Vegas Science & Natural History Birthday

Hello! Thank you so much for signing up to help us with our 35th Birthday Party.

Below are some options on what we need help with. Please indicate in the notes section of the sign-up if you would like to do that task for the entirety of your shift or be on a rotation.

You may not be scheduled for everything you submit interest for. Spots are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you wish to work more than 3 hours, you will be scheduled for a 30-minute lunch break.  We have a break room with a refrigerator to store your lunch in.  If you would like to take your break with someone on your team, please indicate that in the notes section of the sign-up.

Once you have signed up, I will need to know if you cannot attend your shift. Please email me as soon as you can to let me know of any changes to your availability.

Shifts start as early as 9 am (set up) and go as long as 5:30 pm (clean up) on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Please indicate in the notes section how long of a shift you wish to be scheduled for. It is not required to stay the whole day, but if you do indicate you are with us from 9 am until 5:30 pm, I will schedule you as such and will rely on you to stay the whole time.

We have included a shift on Friday, July 10, 2025, from 2 pm - 5 pm for early set up and prep work.

Once you have signed up for the activity (or activities) you are interested in, I will create a schedule and share that with you.

Please keep an eye out for follow-up emails regarding the event.

We cannot accommodate court-required hours at this time.

This opportunity is available for ages 13-15 years as long as they have an adult volunteering with them. Drop-offs are not allowed.  Thank you again for your interest, and we look forward to working with you.

Volunteer: 2026 Dinoween @ LVSNHM

The Museum transforms to host some spooky fun! We are looking for individuals ready to help run activity tables, answer guest questions and help with crowd control.

Team sign ups encouraged as we would love to put teams, organizations and businesses at specific tables.

What better way to show off your team spirit to our guests while helping them learn a little about natural history and S.T.E.A.M.

There may be some light setup duties, decorating, cleaning, and sanitizing before the event. There may be some heavy lifting, moving items from room to room, bending over to pick up light to heavy objects, and light housekeeping (sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting).

Shifts can be adjusted to accommodate team sign-ups. A 30-minute break is available for 3+ hour shifts. Feel free to bring any drinks or snacks for your shift. We have a break room, refrigerator, and soda vending machine on the property.  Emails will be sent out as the event gets closer.

Junior Volunteers (13-15 years of age) are welcome with an adult or guardian present.  Drop offs are not allowed. If you need hours for a school program, this can fulfill those.

Volunteer: 2026 LV Science & Technology Festival-Expo Day

Started in 2011, the annual Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival has quickly become the largest educational event in Nevada. The Festival draws thousands of participants over nine jam-packed days of FREE events all across the Las Vegas Valley.

Through engaging and educational programming, the Festival strives to spark curiosity and highlight the amazing science, technology, engineering, and math taking place right here in our community.

The Festival makes science fun, accessible, and engaging for everyone - kids, families and adults. With over 100 organizations participating, interest in the Festival continues to increase and grow each year.

Volunteers are asked to help do some heavy lifting, moving items from room to room, bending over to pick up light to heavy objects, as well as the potential for unloading/loading from a truck. Long periods of standing. Long distances of walking. Some tasks may even require long periods of sitting. The final day of this Festival is taking place at the World Market Center and as a team, we will be helping to set up vendors, direct guest foot traffic, help check guests in and out and then help tear down at the end.

Saturday, May 2, 2026, will consist of helping various vendor booths, checking in guests, giving directions to guests, assisting booths with directions and crowd control, assisting the LVNHM booth with tasks and crowd control, break down and load in of booths at the end of the event.

Shifts can be adjusted to accommodate team sign ups, so we avoid too many volunteers and not enough tasks. Final schedule to be determined closer to May. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum Volunteer Coordinator will email an exact schedule for these two dates. Volunteers are NOT expected to work the full 11 hour shift- the schedules will vary. This is to give everyone the heads up that the opportunity could start early and end late.

Extra Information: Must have transportation to the World Market Center for this volunteer event

Individuals requiring community service hours for school or scholarships are welcome to apply.
