Volunteer Opportunities From: United Way of Southern Nevada Volunteer Connect

Spring Break is around the corner and I will need help from volunteer rockstars like you!

Saturday, March 21st we will close out Spring Break week with our all day event. Filled with fun, laughs and S.T.E.M! 

The event runs from 10 am - 3 pm. We will need help in a variety of areas and time frames, even some help staying a bit after to help clean up so the museum can look fresh and ready for the next day crowd. 

After you have signed up, please check you email (inbox and SPAM) folder for anything from volunteer@lvnhm.org. 

You must be at least 16 years old to participate as a volunteer and a volunteer waiver must be signed before your shift.

If you are completing school hours or scholarship hours, please bring the necessary documents for the site supervisor to sign.

We cannot accommodate court mandated hours at this time.

Extra Information:  We have a variety of areas you could volunteer for. From being a tour guide to gallery docent. Or help out with special events. You could also be eligible to help in one of our other departments like our Collections, Husbandry or Education.

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum is looking for volunteers that could help with out school tours during this 2024-2025 school year.

If you are a soon to be teacher or would love experience in the area of education, we have that opportunity for you. Are you an enthusiastic, personable, and friendly individual?

Tours run from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. You are not required to commit to every day; however, if you wish to train as a tour guide, we do ask that you be available at least four times a month.

No prior knowledge of our museum is necessary, as we will provide training on everything you need to know. If you already have some background in animals, nature, natural history, or cultural history, that would be an added benefit.

**An interview is required for this position**

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:30 am until 12 pm. 

Ages: 18 and over

Extra Information:  Any prior experience with conducting tours or working with children is a plus. 

Any current knowledge of natural history, paleontology, marine sciences, paleontology, animals, plants, or ancient civilizations is a plus.  This just makes you more comfortable with the galleries we have.
