Mad City Money is a popular “simulation learning” activity put on by the Center for Financial Empowerment (CFE). These events help high school age youth learn, through a hands-on simulation experience, how smart spending, saving for emergencies, and minimizing debt paves the way for financial success. It’s a fun, rewarding activity that makes a real impact in the lives of teens.
We rely on the help of volunteers for this program. Volunteers play the role of “merchants” in Mad City, selling goods and services the participants will need for their families. Of course it’s all pretend, but it serves as a simulation for real life.
