Who We Are
Joseph Carbone, founder and president of EyeCare4Kids™, has been a board certified optician since 1975. He recognized the issue that many underprivileged families face not being able to afford or access professional eye care for their children. In 2001, he left his private practice to launch EyeCare4Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to providing as many kids as possible with eye care services.
Now, nearly 20 years later, EyeCare4Kids™ has locations in five areas nation-wide. It owns family, school and community-based clinics, as well as mobile clinics that bring services to the children and families in need.
What We Do
Eye Care 4 Kids provides professional eyecare to low-income, visually-impaired children and underserved families. Established for the exclusive purpose of promoting good vision and literacy, Eye Care 4 Kids provides vision screenings, eye exams and eyeglasses for youth whose parents do not have the resources to pay. Our purpose is to give students the tools to reach their full potential, in the classroom and beyond.
Students enrolled in Clark County School District with a financial need can receive a screening, eye exam and pair of new prescription eyeglasses (if needed) at no cost, one time per year. Eye Care 4 Kids seeks to serve students in our community with the highest need and, often, a lack of accessible resources.
