Who We Are
CORE is a long-term, out-of-school program that provides both Scholars and their families with an infrastructure for year-after-year success. Our holistic approach has been designed to incorporate comprehensive wrap-around support, social work case-management, and social emotional development into a program that allows whole students to walk into their classroom every day, ready to achieve their best.
What We Do
Our mission centers around the belief that the most powerful way to ensure economic mobility and equity is to invest in children and their families over a long-term period of time and with a holistic approach.
From two-generational programming to social-emotional learning, we’re building an infrastructure for success to ensure that historically underserved students can pursue choice-filled lives.
CORE is made up of three main programming components:
CORE Academy
Our unique out-of-school programming is designed to provide supportive advisors and mentors, social emotional learning based curriculum, and college and career exploration opportunities that keep Scholars focused on year-to-year success that builds to both educational and life achievement. Programming takes place on a weekly basis throughout the school year, with optional summer camp programs available in the summer months. The curriculum of CORE academy has been designed to grow alongside our Scholars, evolving to meet their changing needs and keep them setting growth-oriented goals from 6th grade through high school graduation day.
Parent Academy
Our 2gen approach includes individualized programming for parents that is designed to help Scholars and their families grow, learn, and succeed - together. Through Parent Academy the parents of our Scholars have direct access to a dedicated social work case manager, learning opportunities to grow both career and life skills, and leadership opportunities that center their voices in the planning process of our CORE Community. We recognize that the success and well-being of our Scholars is intrinsically linked to the success and well being of their overall household. Parent Academy ensures that we are supporting success in a holistic and comprehensive way.
Alumni Network
As we prepare our Scholars for future success, CORE recognizes that high school graduation is not the finish line. Our Alumni Network is dedicated to providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the four years following graduation, as our Scholars transition into higher learning, technical training, and the workforce. Each of our Alumni members has access to a dedicated Alumni Advisor that meets with them at regular intervals to check on their progress and provide resources, guidance and support to help them meet their goals and stay on track for success.
